   3801. Egyptian Old Kingdom Polychrome Limestone Relief, Ca. 5th to 6th Dynasty, 2520-2195 BC. Finely carved with two oarsmen facing right and leaning back to lever the oars, their faces with long black tapering eyebrows and cosmetic lines, the lips outlined, a fragmentary inscription in the register above. 6-1/8” x 11 1/4 in.  4313. Egyptian Blue Faience Mother Holding Children, Roman Period, Ca. 100 BC/AD. The statuette in bright blue glaze with details in added black, of a kneeling woman holding a child on her lap, another clings to her back in a basket. 3-1/2in. (8.9cm.) H.  3885. Egyptian Sandstone Relief with Hieroglyphics, Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 300 to 30 BC. Carved in sunk relief with remains of red and white pigment and two registers of glyphs: Top left is a head glyph next to a sun disc flanked by cobra. Bottom register we have a loaf of bread next to a ntr (cloth wound on a pole) which represents a God and lastly, a block or base glyph. 13-1/4 in W. x 8 in H. + mount. Ex Belgium Private Collection.  4240. Apulian Red-Figure Kantharos, Attributed to the Kantharos Group. Ca. 350 BC. A lovely vessel with high stem foot with tall scrolliate raised handles. One side decorate with a seated draped female. She sits on a rocky crop and holds a casket (box) in her raised left had. The other side has a profile head of a lady of fashion. Chips to foot else very good condition. 8-1/2 in H. 21.8 cm. Ex Berlin Germany Collection. Cp. Similar examples in Vase Painting in Italy, Red-Figure and Related Works in the MFA, Boston. SOLD

4310. Attic Red-Figure Hydria from the Kirsch Group, Ca. 350 BC. Showing on side (a), a central female figure seated on a scrolling shrub, wearing a belted chiton and holding up a scrolled foliate sprig, to the right Eros is depicted bending over and releasing a bird by its wings, on the left stands a female figure wearing a chiton with a dotted neckline, gesturing with her left hand, with ovolo along the baseline, a band of laurel around the neck and dashes on the rim and around the handles, 123/4in. (32.4cm.) Ex English Collection. $7,500

4311. Colossal Roman Pottery Trade Amphora, Ca. 2nd Century BC/AD. The pyriform body tapering to a pointed base, thin cylindrical neck with two strong twin handles and collar rim, 43in. (109cm.) H! Intact with age wear. On custom tripod metal stand. Collected mid 1850. See several similar examples in the British Museum. London. Compare Heinrich Dressel, Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum, VOl. XV, (Berling 1899), Form 1. Also see a near identical example in Amphoras and the Ancient Wine Trade, no. 38 by the American School of Classical Studies in Athens, where it states that this type of amphora was the first know to have carried wine from Italy to Greece. Carved with great skill, tossed short hair curls defined all around his head, sensitively modeled eyes with drilled pupils, incised eyebrows and handsome facial proportions. Ample calcite deposits. 3245. Nayarit Seated Figure w Dog Headdress, Ca. 100 BC to 300 AD. Modeled with legs folded in front and holding a fan in the right hand, the wide face with open mouth expression. He is adorned with earspools, neckcords, and he is wearing a great dog headdress across forehead. Overall reddish brown and cream slip pigment. 8-1/4"H. Intact and choice. SOLD

4349. Vera cruz Smiling Soriente, Remojades, Classic Period, Ca 600 AD. Buff clay pottery standing slender figure in an animated posture, both hands raised. He wears a large zig-zag headdress on his triangular head and ear clips on his large ears. He has wide almond eyes and wide smiling face grin. 11-3/8 in H.    4381.  4381. Mayan Pottery Copador Underworld Figure Bowl, ES Ca. 600 to 900 AD. Wide flared well painted bowl decorated on exterior with two elongated snake like figural depictions of male figures slithering under a band of glyphs, one a warrior holding a spear!  3468. Manteno Pottery Figural Censor, Ecuador, Ca. 700 to 1200 AD. Burnished chocolate color; consisting of a wide shallow bowl atop and wide bell shaped base, the center consisting of a nude male figure, standing at attention, with hands at sides, large pierced nose and ear spools. 15-1/4”H.   4252. Inca Pottery Ritual ‘Pacha’, Ca. 1400 AD. A sacred implement used in the Inca water cult. It is a ceramic form molded into the form of a digging stick (taklya), a branch used to prepare the soil for cultivation. Attached to the handle is a perched aryballos (jar) and an ear of corn. 13"L, Intact, minor losses to rim of aryballos and a handle. Old collection sticker and number on base. Ex estate of James McWilliams Kellers, Summit, New Jersey, noted anthropologist, scholar and collector. Compare similar example in Ancient Andean Arts in the Collection of the Krannert Art Museum by Alan Sawyer, no. 87. Custom mount included but not illustrated. SOLD

4243. African Wood Female Ibeji Figure, 19th Century. A handsome female figure carved on circular base, standing with hands held to hips. She has an elaborate ridged coiffure, wears strands of beads around neck and waist and has fine facial details. 11 in H. Nice dark patina. Old tag reads University Museum. Provenance: Estate of James McWilliams Kellers, Summit, New Jersey, noted anthropologist, scholar and collector. $750

 4107. Songye Kifwebe Initiation Mask. Early to Mid 20th century. A lovely and very well balanced Kifwebe bird mask with carved and painted details. Constrained from the front ; but from the side, it jumps out with fantastic lines and patterns. Wonderful presence. A large 20 in. The masks probably comes from the Southern Part of the Kalebwe region of Songye territory, and Hersak attributes this style to "Ebombo chiefdom, Kalebwe origin". Ex New York City Artist Collection. $8,000
