7657. Chancay Triangle Shaped textile Loin Cloth (Taparabo)
Period: Ca. 800 to 1200 A.D.
A beautiful slit weave gold colored panel woven with profile birds within triangular border; a red fringe around, and long figural decorative panel panel with a split tassel, each with a frontal figure. Triangle is 22 in wide atop x 15 in Long + double panel which hands down. Professionally mounted on brown backing. Provenance: Ex. Jean-Eugene Lions collection, Geneva, Switzerland. Wonderful condition.
