10057. Roman Marble Male Head in the guise of Alexander The Great

A well modeled voluminous carved head in the round with long curling with wavy hair falling to the shoulders, the plump face with full lips and articulated pupils and irises. Displays good use of the running drill and the deep cuts. Size 8¼ inches H. (21cm) high, + mount. Ex Collection of Molly and Leon Lyon, Newport Beach, California, 1970s. Acquired from Folio Fine Art, London, in 1971.
