5947. Phenomenal Roman Bronze Cupid, Eros, Ca. 1st to
2nd Century AD. A corpulent nude youth stands with right leg
advancing, his arms raised, once holding an attribute in his
left hand, his wavy hair arranged in a topknot, with a single
plait over the crown of his head, his eyes inlaid in sliver,
a rectangular tenon on his back, perhaps for attachment of separately
made wings. He stands on the original circular base. 7-5/8 in
H. Intact and excellent condition with reddish brown patina.

on each side with a mascaroon, with two side amphora-like loop
